    IRS claims

Well I logged onto PACER just now and was very shocked and surprised to see a claim from the IRS for $474.05. I am very confused by this as we have always filed, payed our taxes and I have no clue what this is. It says it is from 2006??? Wouldn't we have gotten a bill or something explaining what this was? Cause I would have certainly paid our taxes. I looked back through our returns and I have no idea what this could be!
Should I be worried about this cause now I'm freaking out!!

Were you able to pull up the actual claim from the IRS? If so, was there more detail? Call the IRS and ask them.

yeah, it just says personal income taxes. 12/31/2006. I'm completely confused, I have my returns from that and I see nothing strange on them. This one baffles me..

Call them, they will have some sort of record showing what happened and where the money is owed from.

Just make the phone call, since they filed a claim, if the trustee is able to take any assets, they will be the first to be paid. I would get it figured out soon.

Your return was apparently looked at and they found additional tax owing. I am surprised you did not hear from them first to pay any balance due before they filed a claim on your Chapter 13! How on earth did they know you were in Chapter 13? First thing Monday, call the IRS and they will give you all the information you need. Your attorney may also have recently received some information on the matter and can obtain information for you.

I have the same thing on my pacer account showing I owe 49K to the IRS for 2007 which I just filed and it came out to me oweing them 22K after real estate taxes and mortgage intrest! So how is that balance handled? Our monthly payment is 4600$ to the trustee including our 3600$ mortgage payment will some of the differance start to go to the IRS to pay the balance off?
Converted to Chp 7 in July 341 AUG 3rd Went well!!!

Wow, that is a big difference!! Have you called them to find out where the mistake was made with your initial return. I wouldn't just take it for granted that they are right, not when you are talking about that kind of money.
