A successfully completed Ch 13 bankruptcy remains on your credit report for seven years after filing, Ch 7 and unsuccessful Ch 13 bankruptcies for ten years. *Accurate* negative informaton on your credit reports can't be changed. However, bankruptcy will disappear from your credit reports after the appropriate number of years has passed.
Check the Repair Credit folder here for some great ideas of how to repair your credit and increase your FICO scores while BK is still showing on your credit reports. Good luck!I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
