    First Appt!

I just got my first appt with a BK attorney. He was very nice and said he doesn't like to rush into BK if it's not right for us.We have an appt with him Friday and he wants us to bring 2004/2005 state and federal tax returns, pay stubs, all of our bills(sounds complicated but he said he prefers that)and a credit report-he said they are $30-40 online or we can get one in the mail for 5.50 but it takes 2 weeks.I can't belive we are making this jump and I just needed some words of wisdom and advice for my appt.
    Thank you!

Read, read, and read these forums!

I thought this thread was announcing an appartment, not appointment. To attract more readers you may want to edit a little.

We've all been where you are now, MEA2. Sounds like you've found a good lawyer - what you've been asked to bring will give him an immediate idea of whether you are candidates for bankruptcy and if you are, whether you'll be Ch 7 or 13. Please keep us posted about how the visit goes - good luck!
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

        06/01/06 - Filed Ch 13
        06/28/06 - 341 Meeting
        07/18/06 - Confirmation Hearing - not confirmed, 3 objections
10/05/06 - Hearing to resolve 2 trustee objections
01/24/07 - Judge dismisses mortgage company objection
        09/27/07 - Confirmed at last!
06/10/11 - Trustee confirms all payments made
        08/10/11 - DISCHARGED !

        10/02/11 - CASE CLOSED
Countdown: 60 months paid, 0 months to go
