After almost a year, I have finally filed Ch. 7. Because almost all CC debt is in my name, we decided I would file, my husband did not. Hopefully that allows us some credit worthiness in the future.
I had to wait this long because some stocks that my husband had inherited a long time came into play. We were so ignorant about the stock value! So we had to go through finding out all the values. That took awhile because they were from 1994 and had split, been sold, etc.
I finally filed after Discover sued me. We do not own property but I was afraid of bank account garnishment.
My hearing is 6/10/16.
I wish I had filed alone back in Nov. It would all be over!
