    In re: <format for joint names> ??

I've progressed to filling out forms and, wanting to get everything very correct, I've come to realize that I don't know the format for filling in names on in the header.

Form 1 asks for Last, First Middle. Clear enough.

An Exhibit D is done for each person, so no problem there.

The schedules have just one line for In re:

How should I list our names?

    Joe A Plumber & Mary S Plumber

    or

Joe A Plumber, Mary S Plumber

or something else? Nolo doesn't say in the book. I don't think there would be a local preference on this.

    Someone who's in-the-know on this -- help? :-)

    Thanks.

I'm not absolutely positive, but I can tell you what I did. I filed Pro Se on 2/3/09, and I never heard a word about what I put down. I'm hoping that I would have heard something by now if there was a problem.

Joe A. Plumber and Mary S. Plumber

Unfortunately, I used the PDF fill in forms, and not all of the forms had enough space. On those, I just printed the form and filled out that spot by hand.

BestCase, which is the software that most Bankruptcy Lawyers use to file petitions, just places the names separated by a comma.

      E.g. John S Doe, Mary K Doe
      Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
Status: (Auto) Discharged and Closed! 5/10
