    i have to say this topic was discussed endlessly over dinner by an entire group of people last evening...about what really is considered an asset....

    there was a lawyer in the mix...not a bk one...but one nonetheless ....here's the general consensus:

    one does not own the box...so the box is not an asset...if in fact, if you only have paper in there not the kind with ben franklins on it then claiming the box is not necessary. passports, your bk petition are simply not considered assets to be listed and...the box is the banks...

    the box is the banks...and is worth more than the paper that's in it..... DO NOT kill the messenger! PLEASE!

      Tobee has a point. You are basically paying box rent on it, the same way you would if you have a postal box.

        yes, i think that was the drift of it. you need not claim your worthless to everyone in the world (except to you, personally valuable) papers sitting in a rented box...
