    1099-c

Do I need to include a 1099-C , even if box 6 (bankruptcy) is checked? Why would the creditor send me this, if they admit that this debt was included in the Bk 7?

just attach the form 982 and it will fine. the creditor needs to claim the loss and to show it to the IRS. if you filed bk and it was discharged and closed you have no tax liability. however, i would consult you accountant.

      Yes

You know you have filed BK, the creditors knows you filed BK, but the IRS does not. So you need to do form 982
