Ch 7 disharged, question about filing federal/state taxes

Could someone please tell me if I have to do anything special when filing our taxes this year? I don't have a preparer do them, I attempt to do them myself. I don't want to do anything wrong.....we were a Ch 7 discharge (last june/july 2012) and we had no issues, no home or anything like that.

I remember my attorney said that we "shouldn't" get any 1099's but that if we did to do something but I don't remember what? I think to maybe include our discharge papers.

I apologize if that has been addressed before. My computer doesn't work half the time, so I am not able to read through posts like I used to.

    Thanks!

If you received a 1099-C for debt that was dishcarged in your BK, you need to complete form 982 to indicate the debt reported as cancelled was discharged in BK and attach it to your return. If you don't receive any forms 1099, there is nothing special you need to do because of your BK.

Filed Chap 13 April 2010. Discharged May 2015.
$143,000 in debt discharged for $36,500, including attorneys fees. Money well spent!
