    Post Discharge Money Question

    Discharged in Feb 2013,

Case is an asset case, all assets have been collected.

Waiting for final trustee report to be finalized and forwarded to court. Was told 6 to 12 months before it may close.

Question #1: Since I have basically no debt, can I start saving money in an account without the trustee coming after it?

Question #2: A family member wants to give me some money to help me re-establish myself, would the trustee come after that as well if it is put into a savings account?

    Thanks

If you've been discharged, your financial affairs are your own business. Actually, you could have started saving right after you filed your petition.

keepmine is correct! we began saving as soon as we filed the petition. although, i still didn't keep any money in the bank that we were saying, good thing too, because at the 341 i was asked for an updated bank statement. that is not the norm the courts were just backed up when we filed and we had approx an 8 week waiting period between our filing and our 341.

      just keep stanching those bucks!
