Can anyone tell me what the average cost is for a bank to foreclose on a home?

This will vary from State to State. Judicial foreclosures are more expensive than non-judicial. In some States - especially if done by non judicial procedures - the cost is subject to that which is allowed by statute. As a result, I do not think you can get an "average". Maybe someone can tell you the approximate cost for the State of Michigan.
