How hard is it to get a job after Ch 13 BK?

    Hi!

I am going to find Ch 13 BK because of my mortgage. My house is underwater and my first mortgage is an ARM that is readjusting in December. I tried a deed in lieu and short sale and Countrywide both denied them. They also won't give me a mod. I just want to get rid of the house and rent again.

I'm also on the verge of loosing my job. If I have to get a new job after filing for bankruptcy, I'm wondering how hard it will be. Or maybe I should just try to get a new job now and then file for BK.

Any comments are very appreciated. I'm so thrilled that I found this site.

It would be no more difficult for anyone else in this 10% unemployment environment. There may be several career fields that the BK would make it difficult such as law enforcement, financial service, and maybe some jobs requires top-secret clearances.

JB is right. It's going to be tough to get a job anywhere. There are so many unemployed people looking for work.

Unless you are seeking a job in the fields JB listed, I don't really think your BK would have an affect on you finding another job, if need be.

Let's Hope and Pray you get to keep your current job.
