If I file how will it affect my husband's credit

Our mortgage is in my husband's name. I am not on it. However, we are in a community property state (Texas). If I file by myself, will the bankruptcy show up on his credit report or affect our mortgage? We do not have any joint debt.

Your BK should not appear on your husband's credit report. If it does, he should file a dispute to have it removed. If you have no joint debt, that is very unlikely to happen.

My husband filed but I did not, never showed anything on my credit. we had no joint credit, no joint bank accounts and both our homes (primary and rental) were in hubby's name only. The only thing I did was (along with hubby) is change my bank account to another bank, just in case. We were already in the process of changing his over so I did mine as well, did not want to give the bank ANY chance or reason to freeze my account (overkill I know but hey you never know). Good Luck!
