    HOA Letter

I am now two months behind in my HOA payments. The HOA saw fit to fine me for having a threatening tree removed. I mention this because instead of keeping the fine and fees separate they did not and I choose not to pay. I also have an appeal hearing with the HOA about the tree incident on Jan 21st.

Today I got a cordial letter from the HOA reminding me I was late on my payments. They included a direct debit form and ask that I call them. There was nothing threatening at all.

After reading the underhanded tactics of CC companies I am reluctant to make any contact.

Yesterday the bank send me a notice of default. I am two months late on the mortgage.

Should I do anything about he HOA letter or simply file it away?

I would recommend that you do nothing, and keep the HOA letter--as well as any other collections letters from other companies--in a shoe box. Write the date received on the envelope, and file the letters away for when you eventually declare bankruptcy.
