I got another extension. I fell just short of getting cut. But just because I got my extension does not mean I am not giving up the fight for everyone else to continue getting theirs.

I can't believe the latest republican boycott of legislation and now they blocked a bill to provide funding for poor childrens school lunches and other school related meals for the poor.

      Bahhhhhhhh Humbug Mr. Scrooge!

we aren't certain how many weeks we are going to receive at this point either....i think we will know more next week.

however, i heard part of the bush tax bill passed today.....now i'm certain the republicans are awaiting those over the 250k mark to retain their cuts and hopefully congress with pass the unemployment extension.

        it's going to be interesting.

tobee, this is more of a statement made by the dems. Basically the democrats put forward the bill for just the middle class tax cut and got it passed in congress. However, as soon as it hits the senate, there won't be enough votes for a super majority (60 votes necessary) to pass, so the bill will die.

I think the republicans will be at an advantage in the short term because they have nothing to lose and everything to gain right now, while the dems will be screwed on the short term, but hopefully can recover in this war on the long term.

I am scratching my head why the recent campaign had to go the way it did, because all those angry voters that want change for an improved job situation and economy, just created 2 years of a much worse situation as next to nothing will pass, and what does pass will end up being a sad compromise for everyone.

yes, i know and understand you are correct...and actually i cannot truthfully tell you i wasn't one of those "unset" voters...however, i never vote "party" line anyway...i try and vote for the person whom best fits my point of view...or priority issues.

i'm worried also...but you know, i am wondering...and i also think there may be a misunderstanding that both you and i will be finding out about sooner or later....

unemployment at 99 weeks is not stopping.......it's just the extension after one completes the 99 week period...or is it...i knew a few that were cut drastically or completely by their funds they received....it may be based on how long and how much you earned??

tobee, I am curious if the UI checks will include the $50 federal addition in this round or not. I hope it does, but even if it doesn't, I am grateful just to get the check period. I am hearing about unemployment extensions constantly on the news now. Everyday different congressmen, senators, the president are telling the world that benefits have been cut off. They are pounding this message over and over again. I am happy for that.

Now we get to watch the game of chicken being played between the parties. This is the time when I wish we didn't have a 2 party system and everyone would just work together for the good of the country. This is what makes people hate politics so much.

we got ours yesterday??? i'm not certain if that's included with this "new" time period...it went into auto deposit so i haven't seen the date as yet....we usually get the "stub" a week later.

i heard nothing about the extra $50...and shoot helpme...we haven't been mentioning THAT....now everyone and their mother and their mother's mother are going to jump on the wagon to stop our $50!!!! LOL!!
