Age Poll

Although not scientific, I was wondering about age bracket and state for the forum members.

Can't do a poll for state since there are too many, but maybe just post the state after the poll.

I wonder if the number of BK filings have anything to do with the states hardest hit with unemployment and/or housing market decline.

Also interesting to know might be if you think you would have benefited if you filed sooner.

PA and also would have done this sooner had we known it was a real option at the time.

Previous debts and lack of work (hubby was in lumbering) is mostly what got us here.

I'd like to state for the record I indicated I was in the 46-50 range but my co-petitioner (lovely bride) would fall in a much younger bracket!*

We filed in WA but have since moved to CA. As for filing earlier, yes I wish we had. We fought it for so long and it really took a toll on us. Post-BK was soooo much better!

Yo ho, Yo ho, a pirates life for me

I notice, that the majority of bk’ers are between 50-60. What a shame as I see these figures as “downsizing” the “oldies”. I am convinced as I was one of those ten years ago. I am now 65. Why is it a shame? Because this is the prime of your lives and the house should be paid off, a hefty retirement in pensions and 401K’s. A bit of fishing and golfing in the near future. Instead, I see many as Walmart greeters.

I am terrified at to what is going on in our Country today. This naïve president is printing money that will cause those who still have some, to have that wealth reduced to pennies on the dollar. Worse than this, I see us being sold to the United Nations.

Big brother has arrived. ‘Hub. It is my opinion, hold it not against me, just remember my post in months to come.

HELP! I've fallen down, but I DID get up.
If I knew it all, would I be here??

Ditto. I should have filed in 2000.

BK 7 filed and discharged in 2004 after 30+ years of perfect credit. Life HAPPENS.

Hub is right, I know looking around everyone knows its bad but the worst is coming because of the decisions that are being made daily with our country. Like I have said many times, I hope guys like me and Hub are wrong, totally wrong...

I hope and pray we are.

Purchase storable food, with your excess monies. It can always be eaten later. Ammo, if you are inclined. 22cal long rifle hollow point, kills a squirell for the pot or a criminal for protection. No, I'm not one of those off the wall "the sky is falling" jerks. I'm a realist. Think about it. Read, Alas, Babylon, (Pat Frank). Read our Consitution, and see how we (our voted Government) have ignored the basics. 'Hub
