Bank of America is screwing me!

I filed for bankruptcy four years ago. Just before I filed, Bank of America had a judgment made against me. When they were notified of the bankruptcy, they decided not to pursue the judgment. BUT... they sent a statement to the credit bureau saying that I still owe on the judgment.

Jump ahead four years to today. I am trying to get a mortgage. The only thing stopping me is the judgment against me. You know, the one Bank of America is not pursuing due to bankruptcy?

I contacted Bank of America to solve this problem. I told them to mail me a letter that I can bring to the court to get the judgment released. The court specified they will not accept a faxed letter. It must be a typed letter with a signature. Well, Bank of America sent me a faxed letter.

Can anyone tell me how I can get the judgment released? The court won't tell me and Bank of America is playing games with me. Time is critical here, so any help is appreciated.

It depends of what the court will accept. One idea is to have them fax a letter to a local bank and have someone there sign the letter.
One can never start too early to cleaning up your credit reports. You may have been paying extra for car insurance.

I'm not really sure about judgements, but if you can file BK on judgements, then I would try to dispute it with the credit bureaus. I know you are in the midst of getting a mortgage right now, but most of the bureaus act pretty quickly. I would suggest that you mail in your discharge, your creditor matrix (showing them as one of your creditors you filed on), and the faxed letter from B of A. State in the letter that B of A is still showing he $2K as due and you'd like it deleted.
