Anyone ever have experience with building a home after bk?

Just curious...

We would like to build a home in about 2 years (after discharge date)

Anyone have any experience with building a house 2 years after bk?

The builder that we'd go through doesn't require construction loans...just preapproval before you build and then finalization of loan when home is complete.

We're going to take the next 2 years and save up at least a 10% downpayment, hopefully 20%.

Any advice would be appreciated!

My 2 year discharge date is in October of this year. Our credit has been good since then and we are building a home. We are going FHA and are closing in October. We've been pre-approved and they actually started building our house last week. It's so exciting!!
