Assuming you are in a non-community property state, and you have no joint debts, then it shouldn't affect your husband at all.

We are hoping that we will be able to buy a house down the road just using his name...can that be done if I am married to him or will they still look at my BK since I am his wife?

If he doesn't include your name & earnings in the application and can get the mortgage in HIS name only the creditor would have no reason to look at your credit history.
