Mortgage with co-signer after BK

How soon do you think we could get a mortgage with a co-signer after BK? We are looking to do a Chap. 7, then moving out of state.

Would it be fairly easy to get a mortgage with my inlaws co-signing or are we kidding ourselves?

2 years for FHA assuming no foreclosure, co-signers cannot make up for bad credit of other borrowers on application

Welcome to the world of renting for a few years.

Find a home you like and ask about a lease option....put some skin in the game, set the purchase price, pay some rent for a few years, get a mortgage. At least this way you have the opportunity to call it your own and have a fixed purchase price at the end of the contract.
