Is it wise to apply for a credit card

Hi all,

I have had a mortgage offer from Butler Mortgage in Toronto. The completion date is by the middle of next month ie.., February. My question is; Is it wise to apply for a credit card in this situation? Please do reply. Thanks!

When you are applying for a mortgage, you do not want any new accounts or inquiries. No, it is not wise to apply for a credit card now. Wait until the mortgage closes, then apply the next day.
