    Best offers yet!

Ok, last week I received from Household bank, a Platinum, 0% no interest for 6 months, 15.99% interest, no annual fee card.....is this for real?

It's the same offer, it seems, one through hbacept.com and one through acceptourcard.com/mc.

Are they the same? I'd like to get one but don't want to get fooled here....have my hooter's card ($72 annual fee w/1K line of credit).

They both say HSBC...just saw it on the return envelopes?

    Thoughts?

    I did it online...

...got approved! Now I can transfer a balance to it for no interest for six months.....

I have a whopping $160 on my hooters card (are you not proud of me??!!) and I've had it for almost two months now!

should I take advantage of the balance transfer no interest thing?

If it works out to be cheaper than your Hooters card, Sure!

Many times, CC's charge a Balance Transfer or Cash Advance fee of X% or $Y minimum charge. If that's gonna be cheaper than what you'd pay in interest to Hooters until you pay off your balance, then do the transfer.

      Congrats, Amis!!

Gosh, I don't know....I already have the statement for Dec....$159 balance & I was planning on paying the whole thing off immediately? But this card gives you 6 mo. interest fee....here is the "is it better to pay the balance in full or carry a balance and show payments" thing....I just don't want to get "sucked" into something and screw up....

AMIS - if you were planning on paying the balance in full - just go ahead and do so!

A balance transfer is going to cost 3% or some minimum transfer fee - why pay any fees on either card? It will just cost you more!

If I were you, I'd pay the Hooters in full.

Then just put a tank of gas or something on the other and pay in full. Once you put something on the card they report to the CRA's - it doesn't matter if you carry a balance or not - they still report every single month.

If you just want to show usage - use both cards for gas or groceries every month, then pay in full - that way you are using your already budgeted expenses to re-build your credit.

But don't do a balance transfer, it's a waste of money.

Thanks for the info! Yeah, I'm really trying to be aware of all the hidden stuff with the cc's today. I was just happy it was a no fee card...figures, after I apply for the Hooter's right? ok...no biggie...I'm very happy to be rebuilding!

Son has had a CC for 6+ months now. CapOne College Student offer thing. It's not 0% interest, but, so far it hasn't cost him anything.

Every month, he charges some regular expenses. Gasoline and such. Then when the bill comes, he pays in full. So far, no interest charges.

3 months after he got the card, because he kept his bill paid as agreed, CapOne gave him a credit line increase.

CapOne may be getting the % from the merchants/charge, but Son hasn't paid them a penny in interest yet.

Congrats! HSBC offers a ton of "different" cards, but its really just a bunch of the same cards with different terms and conditions. Once I already had both Household & Orchard cards they still sent me more offers for months. They along with capital one are known for the trick of issueing multiple cards to the same person, sometimes 3 or 4, to maximize fees. So watch out! I never got approved for their low or no fee cards, but if you can then go for it. I would transfer the 160$ too but only if you cannot pay it in full.

Thank you for the insight......I'm going to pay off my balance on my hooters just like I normally planned...it is a "no fee" card with HSBC...and I'd like to keep it that way! he he....again, I have no idea what my credit line will be....so I'll know when it comes in the mail....they did offer a rush delivery in the mail to get the card fast but I don't need that option...I think it was around $20....no biting here!
