    Experian and B of A

I've been disputing with Experian my "30 day late as of Feb." since last year to no avail. I got fed up and tried to correct directly with the source - Fleet Bank, who is now part of Bank of America. I faxed the documents to support my dispute to Bank of America ( I never got a response back) and mailed a copy of the documents to Experian. I get my updated credit report from Experian yesterday and nothing has changed. My husband and I had to file for BK in June 05 due to a student loan I co-signed for my dear husband. I have never missed a payment and always paid all credit cards on time. Am I really making a big deal out of this "30 day late as of Feb." since I already filed for BK anyway? I mailed my payment to Fleet Credit Card Services, but the check was returned to me. The reason being that the bank didn't know what the check was for. This was the first time this incident ever happened. I mailed a copy of that letter from BofA along with my original check to Experian and faxed to BofA. Would correcting this one deragatory item even help my fico source? Should I even pursue correcting? What annoys me is that the information in my credit report is incorrect and that BofA is not doing anything about it in spite of my supporting documents. I would appreciate anyone's thought(s) on this matter please. Thank you in advance.

Ummm why are u attempting to pay them is they are included in your BK?.... Even if they're not included you don't have to pay them at the present time anyway.

Had a similar issue. A Suntrust Bank card was included in our BK. BofA bought the Suntrust card and changed account numbers on the account. This happened just as we filed BK so I never got notice of the updated Acct #. Needless to say the "new" acct # went to a collection agency who was trying to collect this debt.

I finally got through to BofA and they sent documents to the collection agency showing that the account included in BK was the same that they were trying to collect on.

My fear now is that it will be very difficult to get this corrected on my Credit Report...that journey began today...

B of A is one of the worst. My husband and I had a Fleet loan and when they switched to Bank of America they didn't draft our monthly payment out of our account. I had to call them three times to please take the money because we did not want to hit the 30 day mark. Well we did hit the mark and they finally drafted it out a few days after that. I have been trying for a year to get this off out credit report but they refuse. I will be filing Chapter 7 now so I guess it won't matter much now anyway. But it would be nice if they took it off my husband's.

We had somewhat of a similar experience. DH mailed in a check on time that when the bank opened accidentaly cut the check in two. They sent it back to us and asked for a new check, which they then counted as a late payment and we were never able to get it changed.

Fleet or B of A received my payment on time, but returned the check to me with a letter stating they didn't know what the check was for???? The check clearly says "Fleet Credit Card Services" like it always says every month since I got the card in 2001. I was never ever late on any cards I ever owned except for this one, supposedly I corrected this with Equifax, no problem with TransUnion, but Experian is the worst! I mailed my supporting docs. to Experian, and faxed to B of A, but no reply from B of A. Experian says they verified with B of A that the information is correct. Although Experian managed to remove the "collection" and left the 30 days late. Experian and B of A should be fined for this kind of misconduct.
