    charge offs and credit scores

    Hello Everyone,

I am wondering how much effort to put in trying to have two charge off`s removed from my credit report with experian.

One is with Chase and the other with Capital One. All of my accounts were current at the time of bankruptcy yet these two still show in the account history a charge off occurred. They have the balanced zeroed out and I am not sure if this has any impact on my credit scores.

I am sure that these accounts were charged off but the charge off occurred after the bankruptcy.

My bankruptcy was in October 2005.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

If the cards were up to date pre BK they CANNOT put it as charged off d/t the filinf they must report it as IIB/o balance. If the debt WAS charged off prior to the BK filing then they can report both Charged off/IIB BK but it should still have a o balance since the debt was discharged. I would definitely dispute it with the CRA.
