Here is the info on Chase's takeover of WAMU, looks like it will take a while for everything to go through.

Oops, you found it! The one page we never want you to see.

OK, I guess I'll join the "wait and see" WaMu ranks. I received this offer in the mail today and was discharged a week or so ago. I also had a Chase account in my discharge. I haven't received these offers in at least 4-5 months, so it surprised me a bit. Well, I decided what the heck and logged in to the getmyvisa.com site, plugged in the WaMu code and 30 seconds later it said "congratulations, you have been approved for a WaMu Visa card with $2,500 credit line, your card should arrive in 5-10 days!!" Surprised the "f" outta me!! I was about to get secured VISA card for the only reason being that my 6 yr old daughter and I are taking a trip to CA in December and a credit card really helps when renting a car. Car rental agencies don't like Debit Visa cards. Other than that I have no need for credit cards, I was just curious with the WaMu "pre-approved" letter. And am not about to start spending money that I may or may not have in the future. I really do not expect to a WaMu card in my mail in 5-10 days especially when Chase figures out that they lost $$$ with me and BK.

And now, two local dealships are sending me letters congratulating me on my "fresh start" and inviting me to come finance a new car! They must publish these BK cases somewhere!
