    Orchard Secured CC questions...

I applied online and was pre-approved for an Orchard Secure Credit Card.

My question is to those who have had an Orchard secured CC in the past. How long did it take, after you sent in your application with the obligatory check or money order, to get your actual credit card? Has anybody been denied for the secured CC despite sending in money and their application?

Reason for filing: Medical, NOT irresponsibility with credit.

    Update:

I applied and was granted their "platinum mastercard" with a $300 spending limit!!! haha. "platinum" too funny.

Either way, thats exactly what I was hoping for so that I can rebuild my credit.

Good luck with this card. We have this card and the same limit and "platinum" status too. Since the limit was low and we wanted to build credit, we just used it for monthly gasoline and payed it off every month. It worked. We went from a low 600's score to mid 700's in about 6 months. Best of luck to you!

I applied with Orchard this week. I was approved for a "platinum" (too funny) card with a limit of $750. This is perfect. I needed a card for work purposes only. At the end of the month I turn in a expense report and get paid back in full.

My debit card is ALL I need for my personal life. I will never get into debt again.

A cc with a limit of $750 will be plenty for my job. I don't like co-mingling personal expenses with job-related expenses - it's too much juggling for me. This solution works for me since my job doesn't issue corporate credit cards, which of course would be ideal.
        Chapter 7 filed 10/21/2008
        341 - 11/26 went smooth NO ASSET
Took 115 days after 341 - But Finally DISCHARGED 3/25/09

Dont worry, I dont pass judgment and dont see why people on the forum feel it necessary, as they are in the same situation, to do so.

If you needed a credit card to pay for the feed for your pet giraffe, I'd say good for you!

I am very concerned about rebuilding my credit and cannot wait for it to start working, thats why Im getting a credit card. I teach driver ed part time and plan on putting the gas ($20 per week) on the card and paying it right off when I get my reimbursement from my company.

For the record, the main reason I filed bk was medical bills. 2 major surgeries w/out insurance (heart surgery and abdominal surgery). Credit card debt was not the reason.
