Myfico quarterly monitoring...

Hi All,
I was thinking about trying this for the first year, just to see how my FICO is moving every few months. It's only 5$ a month, so I could certainly afford it.

-Has anyone tried this service?

-Will these queries be the type that hurts my score?

-It only queries Transunion..can I trust that to be "close" to equifax and any others?

I have this and I like it. Basically you get 4 TU reports and scores per year. It is $5/mo. but if you go to creditboards.com and search for myfico discount code you can find a code for about 20% off. This brings it to about $4/mo. It is really good for monitoring reports if you are disputing items so you can see the changes. I also subscribe to EQ scorewatch through Myfico which is about $7/mo. with the discount. You get 2 reports per year plus you get alerts everytime you get a score increase/decrease, change in accts., etc. These are good because they are actual FICO scores.

Once I stop disputing and getting items removed and my reports/scores stablize, I will probably stop the monitoring services for awhile until it's time for me to get a mortgage.

I forgot to answer the other part of your post. The queries will NOT hurt your score or be counted against your FICO. They are basically "soft" pulls. Also, EQ and TU are not necessarily close at all. My TU score is 518 and my EQ is 591.

Also, FAKOS (scores obtained anywhere besides myfico or the bureau itself, except for EX which no longer provided FICOs) are pretty useless. My TU FAKO from TrueCredit is a full 100 points MORE than my real score and EQ is 80 points more. So they are pretty useless, except as an indication of whether the score is going up or down.
