This is funny. Today I received a preapproval for a Juniper card. I am scared to apply but it looks very similar to the CapitalOne card. Are they related?
Juniper is Barclays bank. I received an offer a week from Juniper with no intention of applying until Chase bought WAMU. Maybe that's a sign for you to apply.

I just received my 1st credit card offer in over a year yesterday from 1st premier. It hurt to read the fees and the terms.

    Good luck,

    Logan

      Thanks Logan,
Let me tell you what my offer is and you can give me your opinion if it is good or similar to what you received.

It has Free Employment Protection for up to 12 months.
I am afraid of this because I feel they may want to charge me fees after the year is up or automatically set me up with this.
      It has No Annual Fee.
      Yah!
      APR 14.99% variable
I am not sure what they mean by variable but it could mean once I use the card they can jump it up to 29.99%. It does say that APRs may vary and are determined by 11.74% for purchases plus Prime. I know Prime cannot be only 3% but I don't know.
      What do you think?

That employment protection is interesting. I would think you could cancel it immediately or wait the twelve months. Usually the cost is based on the balance of the card.

I would apply and if you get it great---if not I wouldn't apply for credit for at least 90 days.

I think prime is at 3.25.

        Logan

I haven't been using my Chase but I think I'll use it a bit just because I want the large credit limit for now.

          Hey Logan,
I decided to take the plunge and apply for the Juniper card online and...
          I got approved for $1200!
I only had $500 limit with the Chase card.
So how long did it take for you to receive yours?

Really? I thought you got a $3500 limit with them. I was actually kind of bummed yours was higher. So I thought. I was just happy I wasn't denied.
I really would like the Best Buy Reward Zone credit card but never received a preapproval letter from them. Should I just wait to apply and be happy with what I got?

I was approved for 6K but then they lowered it to $1150.

                My Cap One is $3500.

I hope mine doesn't get lowered!
I doubt I will ever get approved for 6K on anything.

I just wanted to update. I received my Juniper Card V.I.P today. I am excited it got here and didn't get lost or something. I am still having trouble with Target not sending my statements to the correct address.
                    Oh well I am excited!

i love my juniper card, had it thru the bankruptcy and the only thing they did was lower my max limit but left me with at least some $$ and ability to have the card for emergencies, its tucked away in my drawer, and am so happy they were bk friendly.
Don't take my word for it, I'm just sayin'
