Charge offs after BK filing?

Can a creditor report a charge off after the BK filing date? I have several reporting as charge offs, even though the BK was filed months before.

Also, I have creditors still reporting balances even though the BK was discharged in March.

Any help is appreciated.

if the account was charged off BEFORE u filed yes they can report it as charged off


DISPUTE the accounts showing a balance as included in BK

Agreed .. .keep disputing the ones that show a balance, that were included in the Discharge.

Verizon is awful . . . they are relentless in violating this. I dispute them, and I win. They put the balance to $0. Then 8 months later they come back and re-report it as a balance due of $365. I dispute it . . it goes to $0 . . . then back again. It really damages my credit every time it comes back my credit tanks about 70 points. I am battling them once again . . . as a matter of fact.

Have same problem as TADA with Chase. Filed a complaint with the Comptroller of the Currency They have rejected my complaint so far I am appealing.

I think the original post means that the account became a charge off after the bk not before. Can any one give any suggestions.

Can someone please explain the significance of "charge off" to me? I thought that was an internal accounting procedure only?
