Wow, I was not expecting this at all. We filed for bankruptcy last year and it was closed in Jan. of this year. I have been getting countless credit card offers and throwing them away because I thought my chances were nil.
So one day Capital One calls and I decide what the heck let's try it. Well a week later and today I get a card in the mail. Call to activate it. $5000.00 credit limit, unsecured, 0% interest on all puchases until Dec. of this year.
I was so not expecting that!
A little about our credit history. Perfect credit for years and years. Without going into too much detail we had a death in our family and the hospital bills took us over. Even after insurance we were swamped. We filled bankruptcy and it wiped out the medical bills and credit card debt.
I guess all those years of perfect credit do count for something. I was afraid that the bankruptcy would erase all of our good years but apparently they can see them on the credit report and decided we are not a huge threat as far as debt goes.
I only got it to rebuild our credit and do not plan on using it unless I can pay off the entire amount each month. I guess now my husband needs to get one in his name as well. Maybe from a different credit card company?
