Just checked my credit report this morning to find that no less than seven (!) older, positive, paid-in-full tradelines have suddenly disappeared from my Equifax credit report. Lovely.
TU and EX are continuing to report everything just fine.
Lore on the Internet is that this has to do with too many soft inquiries since I was using TrueCredit to monitor my reports almost daily for about 3 months. Has anyone else seen this happen? This will kill my EQ FICO score.
I do think this is a pretty blatant FCRA violation - explicitly deleting good, positive tradelines before the usual 10-year expiration. I've called (waste of time), written the dispute letter (mailed today), and I suppose my next stop might well be a courthouse.
Has anyone been successful in getting their prematurely deleted GOOD credit history restored @ Equifax? Is this a widespread problem? Any lawyers listening and interested??
Thank you for your help - any thoughts would be much appreciated.
