Well as I mentioned, I was turned down for a Target Red Card and a Dell Computer acct. Rest assured my letters to Experian and Equifax requesting a free report due to a credit denial went out in the mail this morning after waiting in line for 30 mins to buy a book of stamps.
Anyway, in my mailbox this afternoon wasn't a denial letter from Hooters, but rather it was a letter requesting proof of address and SSN number. According to them, they can't further process my application without it so I faxed a utility bill and a copy of my SSN & Drivers License to their office in Utah, snail mail would take too long.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is Hooters making me provide documentation only to turn me down? After all Target and Dell didn't want to be bothered. After all their rejection letters were dated the same day I applied online.
Any thoughts. Would a company bother to request sensitive documentation only to not extend their services to you?
Thanks
