Hello all. Please excuse my newbie account. I lost my old password and changed my email so I have a new account.
I scored on two credit cards!
My first new card is from Washington Mutual. I did not get an offer - I went to thier site and applied.
They gave me a $2,000 card with 6 months no interest and no annual fee. And another VERY VERY useful thing. I get my official Experian FICO Score score once a month just for having the card!!! I havent actually gotten it yet - they say it can take up to 6 weeks when you first get the card. I wanted to pass this on.
Also - Household (HSBC-Nevada) just sent me an offer (and approved me online) for a $1,000 MC with 2% cash back on all purchases! Now I can earn money from the CC companies (as long as I don't let them carry a balance).
Here are the basics of my situation so you can compare if you will be approved as well:
My FAKO scores from True Credit are: 666 (TU), 648 (EX), 677 (EQ).
I have the following cards:
Capital one: 1,000 CL/ no annual fee / Had for 8 months.
GEMB Care credit $400 CL / No Annual Fee / had for 8 months
Target Red Card $200 / No Annual Fee / had for 8 months
Racetrack (Juniper) $1,000 CL / no annual fee / had for 4 months
Hooters $500 CL / no annual fee / Had for 4 months
1 House loan (perfect payment for 3 years)
1 car loan (perfect payment for 8 months)
1 student loan (perfect payment for 14 months)
I pay off my balances in full every month, no exceptions.
I went Chapter 7 14 months ago.
One odd cool thing I have noticed for any of you trying to raise your scores to get a house or car loan. My FAKO scores have been as high as 698/674/680 when my creditors post all my balances as zero. Unfourtunatly Hooters, target, care credit, and Racetrack seem to really be slow about getting them updated.
Capital One does it very very fast.
