Nice post. The only one I disagree with is change your own oil. That, in fact, can be more expensive to do yourself. The cut off point seems to be about $20. Many places will change your oil for $20 or less; and it will cost you about that to do it yourself (cost of oil + filter). But, nevertheless, I do change my oil. but, if you don't have the tools, you will need to invest in a socket wrench (not so cheap) and oil filter wrench (these are cheap).
