    Taxes!

I just read a great thread "10-99 sent for discharged debt". Not seeing an obvious category for taxes, and since the season is upon us, I thought I'd throw this out there.

I'm sure like a lot of people reading, I was discharged/closed last year. I surrendered my house in the BK, but no signs of movement by the mtg companies on foreclosure/auction. BK was smooth as silk. I was planning on filing a straightforward return with no writeoffs, etc. Should I wait to see if I get sent anything by any of the banks (10-99's, etc.) or can I file as soon as I get my W-2? Taxes will be soo easy this year if so.

    Thanks for any input/experience.

Sooo glad to be debt free!!

I believe IRS rules require all W2's and 1099's to be delivered before February 1. Wait it out then file. You can always amend if one slips through later. 'Hub

      Thanks 'Hub!

It's my understanding that there should be no 1099's, but occasionally one slips through by mistake?
