    Looking for a new job...

I'm 24 months into a 36 month chapter 13 plan. I was hoping to hang in at my current job for one more year, but things keep getting worse so I need to be smart and find a new job. I sent out a few resumes 2 days ago and already got 1 call back. We are playing phone tag but I hope I can at least get an interview.

Blah blah blah...on to my question. At my current place, my payment is garnished from my paycheck. If I get a new job, I'd really like to be responsible for sending the portion that comes from my check to the trustee on my own. (Hubby's check is also garnished.) What do you think the chances are that the trustee will allow this?

I'm also interested in hearing anyone's experiences on changing jobs in the middle of a ch 13 when your wages are garnished. How did it go?

    Thanks!

You will need to report any increase in income to your trustee to see if your plan needs to be modified. Remember, you can modify your expenses too if the job requires a business attire or your're travelling more (etc).

You need to check the paperwork you got from the trustee for your plan to determine the acceptable methods of payment and talk to him/her if you have a concern about a garnishment at a new job in a small company.
