We filed on October 18. I was doing some research at the court house today for work and I see that a complaint has been filed against me by Citicards on October 30. Now, I guess that they didn't get the information before the lawyers filed (or one person doesn't know what the others are doing). Anyway, I haven't been served yet, but I did call my lawyer's office. Looks like they just wasted that filing fee. Funny thing is, I told Citibank around the beginning of September that I was filing and gave them my lawyer's number. Oh well, their loss i guess.

Citi is one of the Biggies that gets notified electronically by the Court. So that complaint filing was a big time screw up on their part.
Most of the Big CC's get notified electronically, direct by the Court. When your attny files your Creditor's Matrix, the Clerk of the Court uploads electronic notifications to the CC's.
You filed on Oct 18th. Citi probably knew by the 24th or 25th that you'd filed as they don't have to wait for a mailing.Filed Ch 7 - 09/06

True, but the local attorney handling the case would not have been immediatly notified by CitiGroup.
Even though CitiGroup is a large, multi-national corporation...collection law suits must still be filed by "local" attorneys.
So yes, often times the left hand will not know what the right hand is doing.

We so live in the middle of nowhere that I forget about the CC's possibly having attnys on retainer in larger cities!!
