Sorry to hear about your situation. As for converting to a chapter 13...yes, that will get rid of the Chapter 7 trustee, but has its own issues.

Namely, in a chapter 13, you need regular income to fund the chapter 13 repayment plan.

I'm afraid the problems you're having may still persist. The only real difference to the court in your situation, is having any disposable income or not to repay the debt. It sounds like they are accusing you of fraud for the original causes of the debt, and not the filing itself. If it was only the filing, they would have just rejected it or thrown it out.
