Our case was confirmed in January. We are in the Central NY area (Syracuse). I have not received a copy of our confirmation yet, but PACER and our attorney says it was confirmed. I have just sent off payment #6 - YEAH!
The trustee has never stated he needed our tax returns. The form letter package from the trustee says we are responsible for filing our returns every year and that bankruptcy expenses are not deductable. No where does it say I have to send in copies of my return or turn over my refund.
Now, I prefer to let sleeping dogs lie :-) We don't usually get refunds since we our self employed, but apparantly this year, we were eligible for the earned-income credit and are expecting a very large refund, which is great, because our business is seasonal and summer sucks!!
I am hesitant to even call the attorney and ask. Anyone here a NY filer with experience in this?
