Yeah, about all you can do is sue them to release the transcript. The withholding of transcripts is a very common practice. Keep in mind, those cases are somewhat old (but are probably still good law).

Ultimately, you will probably want to get in touch with the universities general counsel to discuss the issue, cite those cases to them. Basically, it is going to take tremendous persistence and research on your part to try to get this taken care of.

I had the same problem. Schools seem to be able to do whatever they please.

Or-- maybe we just need to push really hard. It's worth a try, but I had no luch with them. I HATE school loans. They seem to be outside the law.
