    Direct Deposit

I stopped direct deposit of my payroll when I filed. When would it be safe for me to start it back up, after the 341 meeting?

Can I ask why you stopped the direct deposit? I always had mine directly deposited (never stopped) and I have the trustee payments also taken out automatically. It's easy and I don't have to wait 2 days for my paycheck to clear the bank to pay other bills.

I stopped because by the advise of my attorney I changed credit unions. I was including my current credit union in the bankruptcy so it wasn't good to stay with them, and I had my check direct deposited with them and haven't set it up with the new bank yet.

Oh, okay, I thought that might be the case. Sorry, I don't have an answer for you. I didn't have anything with the bank that I have my accounts at, so it was a non-issue for me.

The ONLY reason to stop direct deposit after filing would be if you have a cross-collaterization issue with a credit union, where they could in effect "garnish" your wages by taking money out of your account to pay the loan you were late on.

You probably should have done this in advance of your filing, so by the time you filed, the direct deposit at your new bank would have taken effect and you'd be back in business. No need to wait for the 341, however.
