Inheritance

My DH is in CHapter 13, we have less than a year to go. Only he filed, I should soon be receiving an inheritance check for enough to cover the balance due to 13. Do you think that they would let me pay it off early? We have made 27 payments and are suppose to make 38.5. What are the possibilities of paying off early or should I just put it in my savings account and pull it out every month to pay it. I would like to pay off early because we have a son who will be going to college in Sept, the same month that we are due to be done with 13. Plus, my DH car is on its last legs and don't know if it will make it nine months. THanks.

If your chapter 13 is a 100% payback plan, then an early pay off will work for you. If your plan is less than 100%, you need to wait until the 36 month mark to ask for an early payoff amount.
