    Could I lose my apartment??

I took one of the online means tests. Now I'm scared.

It says the maximum rent allowed in my state and county is 1024. However, my rent is $1100. The base rent is $934 but they make us pay "pet rent" for our 2 cats and pay for the washer and dryer in the unit and we chose to have a carport because of the lack of open parking around here.

Does this mean I'm going to have to move?? I'll never find a decent apartment with our credit rating and we love this place. It seems dumb to move over $76 when our utility allowance is more than we need and so is the personal/household.

I think that's all they'll allow you to "claim" on your forms.

Hmm, so, I guess then I could just make my "miscellaneous" category on my budget an extra $76 or something similar? Because I don't know if the trustee tracks my bank account activity after we go through with the BK. And of course, when giving proof of my rent, it's going to show that it's been $1100, not $1024. I'm making this more complicated aren't I?

My take would be the "claim" amount. In other words, you can't claim you rent for $3000 and pocket it while renting cheaper. The max they will let you "claim" is all that will allow you to put down. That doesn't mean that you can't take any extra money and apply it. For instance, say they allow you $400 a month for food.... you really only eat $200. Take the other 200 and apply that toward your rent. Voila! (of course, on the schedule, you will have only $1024 in the rent spot and then have $400 in the food spot.)

I don't think they'll try to make you move, but I'm not positive. This is all just my take on things.
