I was doing some research this weekend and I came across something that said that most often, student loans are incorrectly listed on a bk petition on Schedule E instead of Schedule F.
So I look over our petition again, and I found that indeed, our student loans, both federal and private, are listed on Schedule E.
Now, my thinking is since our atty told us that he doesn't believe the private loans are "qualified educational loans," that those should actually be listed on Schedule F because Schedule E states that those are debts that are taxes and certain other debts owed to governmental units. Well, these private loans aren't owed to a "governmental unit."
Am I wrong in my thinking?
