My H just had his 341 meeting on this past wed.
So today I get an email from our cell carrier that the account has changed.
So I call Alltel-
The company closed his account and reopened one in my name without my authorization or his. They closed his acct because he filed for BK.
So can they just do this?
Worse yet I want nothing to do with his bills - they put my name on his acct with his social security #.
The acct is good and always up to date on payment, it was not included in the BK... just another utility.
Any clue as to recourse on this situation?
I mean can they just put any name on any account or what?
I was only on the account as a authorized user - like a secretary would be for a company phone contract (bill inquiry and changes). They do not have any of my info such at ss #, I did not sign any contract, I did not ever have one bill come with my name on it.
Almost seems like fraud........ Nor did they inform me that they put my name on the acct. I found it when the email MY Circle changed.
I am pissed and amazed.
