how long does it normally take to get confirmed. the trustee has objected and states that the attorney overcharged for his fees? Any suggestions

It really varies! Some go to their 341 meeting and then within the week are confirmed. some have objections and it takes awile to work out. In our case our 341 meeting was in Jan and it took till June to get confirmed due to having to do an amendment because attorney didn't figure out the car payment right.

Also, unless you have a cut and dry case with no complications most people don't get confirmed for 6 months or more.

Most trustees do object to something. If your only objection so far is because of the lawyer charging too much.........that's not bad at all. Most have creditors objections along with trustee objections. In the end it all works out.

The BK code does specify that confirmation cannot occur sooner than 20 days after the 341 meeting and is supposed to take no longer than 45 days after the 341 meeting. I have not heard of any court confirming plans in less than 20 days, but many many courts do take longer than 45 days to confirm a plan.

I was confirmed about 30 days after the 341 meeting. Trustee had several objections but were worked out pretty quickly.

Our 341 was in November and our confirmation was more than 45 days later, about 60 days. There were a few minor objections, but the attorney worked most of them out before the 341 and the remaining before the confirmation hearing. There's a lot of paperwork to nit-pick at, so I'm sure they can all find something to object to if they want, whether or not they bother probably depends on the trustee.

It just can't be held earlier then the 341 unless the creditors agree to no objection. Ours wasn't earlier. It was the day of the 341, BUT it was more then 2 months after filing so Amex should of chimed in then...*IDIOTS ! I hope they don't get their way...
It kills me that in the complaint they're "PRAYING" the court to find in their favor because they are being hurt by not getting paid what they are owed. Sick!
