I am meeting with one soon, but he said that all i need to bring is my id and that i should have all my financial affairs already in my head. He is also charging a 100 consultation fee. Does that seem right? Shouldnt i need to bring in taxes because i own my own business and maybe husbands pay stubs. Any thoughts. Thanks!!

Generally BK consultations are free (he may be charging a consultation because of the business). I would not rule him out just because he is charging a consultation fee, but you should probably cancel the appointment and meet with some others, for free, first. -
I'm guessing that he probably just wants ballpark figures for the initial questionaire and from there he will tell you what he wants.
However, most attorneys will give you a free consult, so I don't like that already. I'd shop around if I were you.
If you do go through with the consultation, bring your paperwork with you anyway if you want it at your fingertips. If you get a bad vibe from him seeing you do this, steer clear. My attorney asked me if I had any questions and I whipped out a long list from my purse and fired away. He answered them all graciously.
