    Initial Confirmation Hearing?

I did a search for "Initial Confirmation Hearing" and nothing came up so I have a question?

Has anyone else had to attend an initial confirmation hearing? I have one that is scheduled next Tuesday April 8. My final confirmation hearing is June 4. At my 341 hearing my lawyer says he doesn't think I need to go to this initial confirmation hearing but I am still waiting to get confirmation from him. I should in the next day or two.

I just haven't seen anyone here mention "Initial Confirmation" just 341 and Final Confirmation meetings.

I am in the Orlando Fl area.

    Thanks,
    SB

I don't know but would think it would be in your best interest to attend any hearing. How else are you going to know exactly what is going on?

Yea. I plan on attending unless my lawyer says I absolutely do not have to be there.

I was actually hoping someone else had to go to one and could give me some information on what goes on at the hearing.

The first meeting...or "meeting of the Creditors" was mandatory on my part. Met with the Trustee...she verified my identity......reviewed my plan proposal etc....took about 15 minutes with an attorney present,,,, was more nervous than I had to be
        Chapter 13 Filed: 11/7/07
        341: 12/11/07

The only meeting we had to attend was our 341. For a confirmation hearing with no objections, I tend to agree with your lawyer, you don't have to be there
IF we had ever gone to court on the objection to confirmation hearings we kept getting scheduled, we would have been required to be there. But our attorney kept at it, modifying, and even filing the proof that we were not in arrears on our mortgage paid outside the plan. We were finally confirmed after 3 or 4 objections being filed without an additional trip to court. I was so excited the afternoon before the last one that was scheduled, when the paralegal told us objection was withdrawn and we were confirmed
