    Transfer of claim---9 months later?

I received a notice today from the BK court about one of my creditors transferring my claim to E-Cast Settlement. You would think it's no big deal (and it probably isn't), but this creditor didn't file a claim in the first place, and our 341 was last June! My guess is that they are out of luck, but I'm just wondering if anyone knows what kinds of issues we might face further down the line. I'm also wondering why they even bother with it almost a year later?

    TIA

    Transfer of Claim

I received a notice today entitled "Transfer of claim other than for security" with eCast being the transferee and FIA Card Services being the transferor.

I filed in November 2007 and was confirmed in May 2008.

I don't think this is really a problem but I'd like to know what it really means. I assume they're just transferring debt between themselves?

This specific debt was listed and a claim was filed.

I've gotten a lot more of these claims since my first posting. Talked to my lawyer and basically it's the original creditor selling the debt to other agencies. He said to be sure to keep all our paperwork should any of them try to come after us at a later date, we'll have proof that the debt has been paid.

If you have "any problems" from these folks trying to collect these debts, just send them copies of your discharge papers showing all debts discharged in bankruptcy...

If they keep contacting you then, you can file claims against them for each time they attempt to collect the debt. Its against the law for them to keep pursueing this debt.

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
