    IRS debt-SFR from 1998 and 1999.-1040's
I filed my returns, but they got lost. I've sent them in multiple times. Finally, they hit me with "frivolous" fines. They actually put words in my mouth. Heres a famous one- "You have taken a frivolous position that wages are not income." That one is really funny since I never received W-2's. Only 1099's. The returns I filed don't show anywhere close to what they claim I owe. Actually, for the year 1999, they owe me $1200. I finally gave up with them because I couldn't get anywhere with them. I filed 862's to challenge their penalties and was fined for those. They are the primary reason I had to file BK. Dealing with them is like being run over by a deaf, blind driver in a car. They cant hear or see you, they just keep driving.

Have you pulled your transcripts and found out when those taxes were actually assessed? The statute of limitations on tax collection is 10 years from date of assessment.

Also, has the IRS actually taken any action, have they given you a Final Notice--Intent to Levy.
