We did not have a choice, our payment is done by payroll deduction.

We're in Ch.7, not a Ch. 13, but we have too much non-exempt property, that our Trustee is allowing us to make payments on to buy it back. As soon as my husband's SS hits the CU, we get a money order made out to the trustee with our case number on it and send it in the mail. So far it hasn't been a problem.

Our plan was filed in Kansas. We paid monthly by personal check. The only time we were required to send a cashier check was for our final payment on the plan. Our attorney requested that we be able to pay by personal check, and the trustee granted that request. One benefit to paying by check is when the plan is completed, you do not get caught with additional/extra payroll deductions and have to wait for several months for the over payments to be refunded by trustee.

We're in CA, Eastern District. I didnj't look into payroll deduction but was thrilled when the Trustee told us at the 341 that he would accept partial payments...as long as the full amount was paid by the 25th. He said no to online banking as that appears as a personal check, which are not accepted. I just send a cert. check for 1/2 amount each payday and it has worked out fine....helps me budget and make sure the money is available.
